If you are using a van and/or trailer to dispose of your asbestos, you will need to apply for a permit.
Reasons for disposal

Your application will be refused if you have more asbestos than is deemed reasonable from your own household maintenance and repairs. No asbestos will be accepted as a result of work carried out by a trades person.

The personal information you provide on the above application form will be handled by Peterborough City Council in line with our retention schedule. Information about how we use personal information can be found in the Council's corporate privacy notice and which also provides information for how you can find out about your rights under data protection. Your details will not be passed to any third party. Information may be provided to resource and waste management company FCC Environment who manage the site and operations of Peterborough Household Recycling Centre for (and when only required) contact purposes need to be made when the site is open yet is outside of PCC office hours.

Receiving your asbestos bag
Your asbestos bag can either be posted to you at the address you have noted above, or can be collected from the Household Recycling Centre. 
You will also receive a PCC approved form of the information you have outlined which you will need to provide to the site staff in order to collect your asbestos bags and/or dispose of your asbestos. 
If posted: 

Your bag and a disposal form will be posted to you by standard 2nd class post. The form will be signed by a member of the Waste Management team to confirm disposal is authorised. Please take the signed form with you when disposing of your asbestos. 

If collected: 

Your disposal form will be posted to you by standard 2nd class post. The form will be signed by a member of the Waste Management team to confirm disposal is authorised. Please take this signed form with you both when collecting you asbestos bag, and when you dispose of asbestos. Alternatively, a signed form can be emailed to you however this must be printed and taken to the Household Recycling Centre when collecting your bag, and you must present photographic ID with your address (ie: driving licence) to be able to collect the bag. 

Asbestos must be contained with the bag provided and sealed with tape to avoid the release of asbestos fibres.
